A Physics experiment was conducted with an aim to verify Ohm’s Law and to garner interest among students about the topic of Current Electricity. After verifying the law, students obtained the value of resistance of the nichrome wire that was used in the experiment. Students were first given a theoretical description of Ohm’s law and then they were introduced with apparatus involved in verifying the Law. They were explained how to use the apparatus and construct a proper circuit diagram. They were explained how to evaluate the zero error and least counts of the instruments used in the circuit (like Voltmeter and the Ammeter) and finally how to take the readings. Students successfully used the apparatus and made a circuit diagram and took the necessary readings. They drew an observation table clearing indicating the values of currents and corresponding values of potential differences. They ultimately plotted an IV graph and by calculating the slope of the graph, they determined the value of resistance of the wire and hence verified Ohm’s law. At the end, few viva and conceptual questions were discussed.
