Students of grade Nursery to five celebrated the auspicious festival of Lohri & Makar Sankranti on the virtual podium with the same enthusiasm and eagerness as they do in school premises.
They celebrated with a lot of exuberance and fanfare as the harvest festival of Lohri to mark the end of the winter season. Grade 4-5 threw light on the sanctity of Makar Sankranti, which is followed by the festival of Lohri. The celebrations began with a speech highlighting the importance of the festival, and students gave speeches, recited poems, and sang traditional Lohri songs telling the significance of the festival. Students narrated how the harvest festival is celebrated in the various states of India, and also recited poems and shlokas. A candy segment was added to the celebration, which was an informative PPT wherein the students were told about the significance of this festival. The importance of the four days, Bhogi, Makar Sankranti, Kanuma, and Mukkanuma was explained by the teachers.
