"Those who have loved are those that have found God." - Guru Nanak Dev
The students of Grade 6E presented a special assembly on Guru Nanak Jayanti, also called Gurpurab or Guru Nanak's Prakash Utsav to commemorate the birth of Sikhism's first Guru, Guru Nanak Dev. The students came dressed in traditional clothes to celebrate the auspicious day. The assembly commenced with a morning prayer followed by the news and the thought for the day. Students shared about Guru Nanak and his teachings to spread universal brotherhood and harmony. They told the audience that Guru Nanak built a unique social, spiritual, and political community which was based on the values of fraternal love, equality, goodness, and virtue. Presidians shared about Guru Nanak’s sayings and quotes in the assembly. In this way, Grade 6 E students shed light on the significance of Gurpurab and various rituals associated with the festival.
