“Our flag does not fly because the wind moves, it flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.”
Vijay Diwas is celebrated on December 16 every year to honour the victory of Indian armed forces over Pakistan in the 1971 war. On the day, India pays homage to all the soldiers who defended the nation. Presidians dressed in white attire keeping India Flag in the background shared that PM Shri Narendra Modi will light up the 'Swarnim Vijay Mashaal' from the eternal flame of NWM on the occasion. Four Victory Mashaals (flames) will be lit from the Eternal Flame of NWM. These Mashaals were carried to several parts of the country including to villages of Param Vir Chakra and Mahavir Chakra Awardees of the 1971 War. They shared special quotes in Hindi and English and paid homage to all the soldiers who defended the nation. Presidians shared that patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.
