"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin
We, at Presidium, love the inquisitive minds of our young learners. We relish the most when they know how to fetch answers to their questions themselves. Students know how to count and say, “1”, “2”,”3”, till the number “10”. But they don’t always understand that each number they are saying is quantity. Keeping this in mind, to inculcate the concept of number names in students, an activity named “Guess my number” was done with students of Grade 1. Students were given flashcards with number names written on them. On calling the number, students were required to identify the corresponding numeral written on the floor. This activity helped students develop the ability to think through a solution and to identify the number as a quantity.
