Presidium recently organised a campaign on ‘Say No To Tobacco’ wherein a classroom discussion took place for spreading and informing the negative impact that tobacco has on people’s health, from cancer to chronic respiratory diseases. The campaign also served as a call to action, advocating for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption and engaging stakeholders across multiple sectors in the fight for tobacco control. This yearly celebration informs the public on the dangers of using tobacco, the business practices of tobacco companies, what WHO is doing to fight the tobacco epidemic, and what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and healthy living and to protect future generations. Every student participated in the discussion and learnt about how Tobacco is the second major cause of death in the world and what is the need of the hour to solve this adversity. They also made posters for their vicinity to spread awareness.
