“May Lord Sun keep lighting your path of success and help you get victory in
every phase of your life.”
Students of 6C presented a special Assembly on the festival of Makar Sankranti wherein, they introduced the festival with the help of sharing from different students and roleplay with great zest and enthusiasm. The assembly commenced with a morning prayer which is followed by the thought of the day. Makar Sankranti is regarded as important for spiritual practices and accordingly, people take a holy dip in rivers, especially Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Krishna and Kaveri. The bathing is believed to result in merit or absolution of past sins. They also pray to the sun and thank them for their successes and prosperity. The sun stands for knowledge, spiritual light and wisdom. Makar Sankranti signifies that we should turn away from the darkness of delusion in which we live and begin to joyously let the light within us shine bright.
