“Days of joy, weeks of laughter, months of good luck, and year of prosperity. Here’s wishing you all a cheerful Lohri.”
Lohri is celebrated to mark the end of peak winter; this festival is traditionally associated with the harvest of the rabi crops. Lohri is celebrated with full joy every year at Presidium. This year during the pandemic time our young presidiums did not wipe off their fun and joyous mood. We at Presidium celebrated this day with lots of fun activities, students of grade 3 danced to different Punjabi folk songs and dhol, Students with their teachers sang an old traditional song of “Sundri Mundri Ho.” To know about the significance of this day they had watched a Powerpoint presentation played by the facilitator. During the celebration, they also enjoyed eating rewari, gajak, and popcorn at their places to bring the feel of Bonn fire. They also shared their plans for this day to be celebrated at their home with their family members.
