It’s International Youth Day and young people around the world are encouraged to let their voices be heard on issues affecting their communities. Youth are encouraged to both create and participate in activities dedicated to providing solutions and improving circumstances for the world’s youngest citizens. It’s not only a time for youth to be heard, but for the rest of the world to listen. The students of grade 10, conducted a special assembly on International Youth Day wherein they spoke on the importance of ‘Youth Day”. They made many inspirational posters and spoke in depth about the bad vices that the youth of today adopt causing them to go astray. They concluded the assembly by putting up an impressive and thought provoking skit depicting all that they had spoken about.

SPECTACULAR VICTORY AT OPEN DISTRICT BASKETBALL COMPETITION

Our Presidians are the perfect epitome of teamwork and this was proved at the Open District Basketball Competition held at Tau Devilal Stadium. A total of 48 teams participated from all over Gurugram and with immense pride we would like to share that our Under-14 boys and girls team bagged the 3rd position in the competition. Their heart is definitely in the court and they shine with their skills everywhere they go. Congratulations to all winners and their coach!

“It’s a new day, new energy, new ideas and it’s time to bring in some sunshine to let each shine
through in their own special way.” The students of grade 7 presented an assembly on the topic ‘Science Matters Beyond The Text Books.’ The thought and the skit presented by students highlighted the practicality of Science in our daily life with reference to Eating Safe and Unadulterated Food. It also created awareness among the students to be alert with the food they eat. A student should be continually exposed to new knowledge and gain insight into the future, the trends, opportunities and new thinking which is opening up new vistas for the Generation Y. The students presented a thoughtful scenario from Newsroom conversation leading to the Live reporting and then to the Laboratory testing which reverberated with the topic of the assembly.

PRESIDIANS DESIGN ROBOTS IN AN EFFECTIVE GROUP SESSION

Robotics is a concept that excites young minds and helps them to showcase their talent. Through robotics in the classroom, students learn how to express themselves and listen and relate to others— honing valuable life skills. STEM lessons are extremely important for students as they prepare to enter the 21st-century workforce. We conducted an effective robotic session for our Presidians. Each class was divided into groups of 4 or 5 students. Each group was given a Robotics kit and were explained about the different tools available in the kit and the different ways students can use them. Few students who already have experience of designing the robots were able to finish a couple of models and they enjoyed playing with their robots. They learnt to make 3 & 4 wheel base models and windmills and were also able to add the mechanisms for Soccer bot or windmill on the same base.

TESTING PRESIDIANS’ SPONTANEITY AT EXTEMPORE COMPETITION

Extempore puts to test one’s ability to think on the spot and also their spontaneity. It assists the students not only in thinking on their own but also in voicing their creative ideas with precision. To imbibe a true spirit of learning in Presidians and to enhance their communication skills, an Inter House Extempore Competition was held. The students from grades 9 and 10 were asked to pick up chits for the topics. The topics in the competition were associated with varied subjects such as current issues, spoken English, Science, Social Studies and Computers. There were two rounds in total. They were judged on the basis of content, relevance to the topic, confidence, clarity of speech, time management, use of language and grammar, presence of mind and body language.

The International Day of Friendship is a day set aside to promote friendship among people, cultures and countries by the UN.The students enlightened the audience with the importance of International Friendship Day.They enacted a skit where the value of friendship was taught. Indirectly they taught the values every child must imbibe. The students were successful in delivering the moral through their skit on ‘Socrates’ that friends should act together and then they will be happy. INVESTITURE CEREMONY PRESENTS THE ELECTED PREFECTORIAL BOARD

To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the
administrative body, a school prefectorial board was formed after scrutinous interviewing and selection. In order to scale the heights and reach the Pinnacle of success, Presidium always strives to inculcate a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students with their heads held high, ready to shoulder responsibilities as leaders. A spirit of unity and dynamism filled the air as the Grand Ceremony commenced with the Lighting of the auspicious Lamp of Knowledge followed by the Prayer to almighty. The Investiture Ceremony is a solemn occasion wherein all the young students are well prepared to don the mantle of leadership and responsibility while carrying it out with utmost dedication. The head boy and head girl shared their experiences and gratitude to the teachers and management in their speech.
