To mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji, a special assembly was conducted by the students of grade 3. The assembly started with a morning prayer followed by thought of the day. Students were enlightened about the significance of Gurpurab and various rituals associated with this festival. A pious atmosphere was created by the shabad rendition. Presidians talked about how Guru Nanak Dev ji believed that God is omnipresent, shapeless, timeless and sightless. Students also threw some light on how Gurpurab is celebrated by the Sikh community through a presentation. The assembly was really special as every aspect of the festival was wonderfully depicted.

The talented and budding stars of Presidium Gurgaon proved once again that hard work and willingness always ensures success. It was a moment of great pride for the school when Presidians clinched the top honours at the Inter School Festival organised by Lancers International School. Students from grades 3-8 participated in various competitions like painting, duet singing, theatre, dance, western band and western choir in both junior and senior categories. Adding another feather to the cap of glories, Presidium Gurgaon bagged the first prize in Inter School Folk Dance Festival 2018 organised by Manav Rachna International School, Faridabad. The vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic dance performance. Presidians performed various dance forms displaying the culture of India. The spectators witnessed he enthusiasm and energy of the young Presidians as they enthralled everyone with their performance.

It was a proud moment for Presidium at the 6th Annual Inter-School Festival organised by Lancers International School. Around 10 reputed schools from Gurgaon participated in the event. Presidians of grades 3-8 participated in an array of competitions and received various awards and certificates of recognition. Presidium celebrated Children’s Day, the birth anniversary of Pandit JawaharLal Nehru with enthusiasm and zeal. A Special Assembly was conducted with immense joy, enthusiasm and magnificence. Various activities and events were specially organized by teachers for the students Celebrations began with a prayer service conducted by teachers followed by the thought for the day, news, and a Hindi and English poem on Children’s Day. The poems made students aware that they are the real future of the country. The importance of Children’s Day was also shared. This was followed by a melodious song. Teachers were dressed up in traditional attire presenting a mesmerizing story telling session. The assembly inspired all to move ahead in life with grace and courage.

National Education Day commemorates the birth anniversary of India’s first Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Students of grade 5 conducted a special assembly to mark this day. Students talked about the life and work of the great visionary and thanked Maulana Azad for the transformation of India Education system. The Principal, Mrs. Alka Singh commended Maulana Azad for his efforts in making education for all children up to the age of 14 compulsory. She encouraged students to emerge the change makers India need for a better tomorrow.

DIWALI: PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE VICTORY OF 'GOOD OVER EVIL'

The celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights, came alive at Presidium Gurgaon when the school wore a festive look with pots, diyas and lanterns adorning the corridors. The rangoli on the theme of eco-friendly Diwali by the students added charm to the festivity. During the morning assembly students talked about the significance of the festival. They talked about how Diwali signifies the victory of good over evil and justice over injustice. The Principal sensitised the students about the ill-effects of crackers and encouraged students to celebrate an eco friendly Diwali. It was a memorable celebration for everybody present there.

We at Presidium believe in ‘learning by doing’. Thus, to let students understand concept of ‘Fruits and Vegetables’, an activity was organised wherein students came dressed as fruit and vegetable vendors. They enthralled their teachers and friends with their articulation and speaking skills while acting as fruits and vegetables vendor. It was an excellent opportunity for them to gain confidence and got to know about different fruits, vegetables and their colours through this activity. It was a great learning experience for the young Presidians.
