PRESIDIUM GURGAON HOSTS CAREER COUNSELING SESSION FOR STUDENTS

Presidium, Gurgaon hosted a free career counselling session, on 30th January, for the students of Grades 8th, 9th and 10th. The session was conducted by professional counsellors to help students select the subject options in Class 11th. The speakers for the day were Mr. Rajiv Jain, a renowned business management professional with more than 22 years of corporate experience and Mr. Deepak Mukherjee, currently serving as Global Head of Internal Audit at Oil and Gas Construction Multinational owned by Laxmi Mittal. Ms. Kavita Raj was also a part of this esteemed panel.
The event witnessed a gathering of more than 200 people, including students from various schools, like DPS, Amity, and GD Goenka Gurgaon, accompanied by their parents. It was an interactive session where they shared their views on conventional notions about career choices and enlightened the children and parents on the difference between choosing a stream and a career. How it is important to not focus on the “top” colleges and professions, but to focus on choosing a career to fuel one’s passion and interests. Students were also told about various career options available after choosing various streams.
The highlight of the event was the idea that when you are determined to achieve something, no matter what the statistics or achievement tests say, most important is one’s belief in oneself.

PRESIDIAN WINS GOLD IN SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP AT MRIS

Our skating champs, Avishi Sinha and Anisha Yadav won Gold Medals in the skating championship held at the Manav Rachna International School. A total of 20 students from Presidium, Gurgaon, participated in the competition and bagged an overall trophy in the championship. Presidians, Avishi and Anisha won a Gold Medal each; Sneha won a Silver Medal; while Pari and Etesham won a Bronze Medal. Other schools like Sri Ram, GD Goenka, DPS (Sector 45 and 48), and Ryan International participated in the competition out of which Presidium Gurgaon gave an outstanding performance and made us proud.
PRESIDIUM HOSTS THE 3RD INTER PRESIDIUM CRICKET TOURNAMENT

Presidium Dwarka 16B hosted the Quarter Finals of the 3rd Inter Presidium Cricket Tournament on 21st January 2015. The T20 match was between Presidium, Gurgaon and Dwarka 22. The grand event began by presenting flowers to the honorable Chief Guest, Mr. D M Sharma, Director, R&D Presidium Group of Schools. The event commenced with Mr. Sharma giving the Cricket T-shirts to the players and the Team Captains introducing him to the team members. Mr. Sharma also inaugurated the match by batting for an over. Gurgaon won the toss and made 246 runs in 20 overs by losing 5 wickets, whereas Sector 22 branch made 74 runs in 12.5 overs by losing 10 wickets. Presidium Gurgaon proudly won the match by 172 runs and 6 wickets. Jatin Saini, the Captain of Gurgaon team was awarded the ‘The Best Batsman’ trophy, and Lakshay Yadav won the trophy for ‘The Best Bowler’ and ‘The Star Performer’.

PRESIDIANS UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF WINTER SOLSTICE UNDER PROJECT PARIDHI

At Presidium, we not only lay emphasis on academic learning but also on practical training for better understanding of concepts. With this objective on 22nd December, six Space Earth scientists conducted an interesting project called ‘Paridhi’ at Presidium Gurgoan. The project was coordinated by Joeell, Lakkshya, Vikramaditya and Manas, our trained Space Earth scientists who were very enthusiastic to take up the conduction and felt proud to do the same.
Presidians assembled in the ICT lab for a presentation on the proceedings of the project and later on they visited the open space for taking up the main activity of the project. Under this project they had to measure and calculate the circumference of the Earth and the significance of winter solstice. The instructor, Mrs. Juhi Joshi directed the students the procedure to take their observations.
Students of Grade Xth, were also interested in the way the students were explaining the procedure of taking the measurements and calculations.The students completed their calculations to determine the circumference to a nearest approximate value which all the groups calculated. It was a wonderful opportunity given by SPACE for Presidians to conduct such an event which was indeed an enriching experience for them.
PRESIDANS LEARN ABOUT THE TRANSPORT SYSTEM

At Presidium learning is not limited to the classroom but we learn from the outside world as well. With the same belief the children of Grade Prep of Presidium Gurgaon, made a visit to Rail museum in Delhi on 22nd December, as a part of their TBL curriculum under the theme "Means of Transport".
Transport is an important concept as it encourages logical and reflective thinking in the child. During the trip Presidians got to know about various Modes of transport and that the field of transport can be divided into infrastructure, vehicles and operations. It enables trade between persons, which is essential for the development of civilizations.
Presdians were eager and enthusiastic as they started the excursion. The purpose behind the trip was to give a real life experience of travelling in a train and to discuss train as a means of land transport and alongside enjoy the thrill of an outing. The students learnt about the various kinds of trains used by people to travel from one place to another in earlier times. They also enjoyed the joy ride in a train and were gleaming with happiness. It was a wonderful experience for all them.

PRESIDIAN WINS THE THINK AND LEARN ACTIVITY CONDUCTED BY NIE

Our champ Lakshya Gupta of Class VII from Presidium Gurgaon has won the School Topper award in Think & Learn activity (Round 1) conducted by NIE. The event was organised by the Times of India at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on 20th December. Lakshya has received an appreciation certificate and a Lenevo Tablet. Thousands of students of various schools participated at the event and Lakshya gave an outstanding performance. Way to go Lakshya. We are proud of you.

PRESIDIUM ORGANISES AQUA FIESTA AWARENESS DRIVE TO SAVE WATER

Presidium Gurgaon organized an Aqua Fiesta in sync with CMS Vatavaran, on 17th and 18th of December with an aim of spreading an awareness drive to save water and and maintain the ecological balance of nature. We believe that we can enhance the understanding of the natural world and its conservation through such events, which also offer avenues for wholesome entertainment.There were about twelve elite schools from Gurgaon and Delhi that participated in this festival, which was also an attempt to showcase the creative talent of young students.
Presidium Senior, Gurgaon, extended a platform for implementing and administering the complete event, which was conducted to a degree of great success. CMS Vatavaran is an NGO which provides a forum for International Environment and Wildlife. Even as the natural world appears to reach the end of its carrying capacity, this organization finds innovative, exciting and deeply encouraging ways to tackle environmental issues.
The event began with a note of sanctity by lighting the lamp by our renowned judges who adjudged the various activities. To keep pace with the changing times, a street play competition was organized. Street plays are the most ancient form of entertainment since time immemorial. The perkiest street play was of SD Adarsh Public School, Gurgaon.
The schools that participated in folk songs presented traditional music and other genres, depicting vast cultural diversity, with soul-stirring performances in which Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, Gurgaon was the winner. The Elomime competition left the audience in a trance, as the artists held the attention and interest of the audience with euphoria. St. Angel’s School, Gurgaon was the winner.
The exhibits and artists who were a part of the ‘On the Spot Painting Competition’ enhanced the narrative of their work subject with rich colours. The school that emerged as winner was Euro International School, Gurgaon.
In the folk dance competition, the various contestants, through their performances in folk and tribal dances, depicted rituals and practices in flamboyant costumes and extensive jewels. The winner was Blue Bells School, Gurgaon.
Spin a Story was another event where participants came out with totally fanciful stories which had a profound meaning and a moral. Debate, extended a platform wherein the participants had innumerable opportunity for formal discussion on Water the Elixir of Life. K R Mangalam, Gurgaon was the proud winner of the event while the overall trophy was lifted by St. Angel’s School, Gurgaon.

TEAM PRESIDIUM BAGS THIRD POSITION IN GROUP DANCE COMPETITION

Presidium Primary team from Gurgaon branch bagged third position in Modern Group Dance Competition. The competition was hosted by Lancers International School, DLF, Gurgaon. Our children competed with schools like Lancers International, Lancers Convent, and Ridge Valley etc. and gave an outstanding performance in the final round. Great going, team Presidium!
PRESIDIAN WINS FIRST POSITION IN NATIONAL REGIONAL COSTUME PARADE

Our young, talented, Presidian Ashlesha Singh of Grade Prep has won 1st Position at the National /Regional Costume Parade. Enthusiastic Presidians participated at the Inter School Competition held at Lancer's International School on 26 October. Total 23 Elite Schools of Gurgaon participated in the parade and Presidium Dlf was also one of the proud participants. Out of 40 students participating in the parade total winners were 4, out of these four, 2 were Presidians. Ashlesha Singh of Grade Prep has won 1st Position and Yagyavi Tyagi of Grade Prep has won 3rd Position. We wish them good luck for future.
PRESIDIANS DISPLAY THEIR WINNING STREAK AT THE SUMMER MEET SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP

Our young Presidians made us proud by performing excellently in Summer Meet Skating Championship, organised at Presidium Gurgaon on 12 September. A total of 50 schools participated in the competition, in which our young champs bagged impressive positions. The results of the competition are: Kareena Kakkar - 1st Position, Anisha Yadav - 2nd Position, Sneha Yadav - 3rd Position, Devansh Sharma - 2ndPosition, Nihika Singh - 2nd Position, Garvita Sharma - 2nd Position, Fayez Khan - 2nd Position, Avishi Sinha - 2nd Position, and Sadhvi Mishra - 3rd Position.
