Stories have always been part and parcel of childhood. They hold a very special place in kids' tender hearts, and fond memories of listening to stories are deeply interwoven in our souls. Stories arouse imagination and creativity, leading to happiness, joy, thrill, and excitement. At Presidium, developing a love of reading, comprehension, and oration is the cornerstone of our English curriculum. Keeping this vision intact, we conducted a storytelling competition wherein Prep, and Nursery students participated with complete ardor and artistry. It opened a window to new worlds for the students and allowed them to learn new ideas and information. They learned valuable life lessons by merely hearing an engaging, exciting story. PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT CONSTITUTION AND ITS IMPORTANCE

India observes Constitution Day on November 26 every year. It is also the day when the nation remembers B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. The Constitution is a legal document that contains government institutions' powers and duties, fundamental rights and duties of citizens, and directive principles, among others. To make children aware of the National constitution day and India's Constitution, a special virtual assembly was organized. In the virtual assembly of grade 5B, the students were beautifully dressed in ethnic wear with their beaming faces. They shared their thoughts beautifully on our Constitution. They shared the Preamble, rights, and duties of our Constitution.

PRESIDIANS HONE THEIR LANGUAGE SKILLS WITH SPELLATHON COMPETITION

In the time and age of auto-correct, predictive text, and spell check, the Spell- Bee competition for Grade 1-3 students held at Presidium came as a whiff of fresh breeze. A spelling competition can spark a love of language and learn in children that will serve them well throughout their entire lives. The literacy, cognitive, and life skills that they develop through study and competing have benefited far beyond the scope of mere spelling ability, reaching into every aspect of life and communication. Participants will also have the necessary language tools to convey their ideas through both written and verbal communication. Participants here had to answer a worksheet (Google form ) with different exercises like jumbled letters, crossword, and circle the correct spelling. It truly tested the linguistic skills of the students.

“Public speaking is the art of diluting a two‐minute idea with a two‐hour vocabulary,” and it takes a lot more when it comes to an extempore. Extempore is the art of public speaking that is carried out without preparation or forethought. It tests one’s ability to think on the spot. Presidium regularly organizes various scholastic and co-scholastic activities to cater to the overall development of its students. To imbue the true spirit of learning and enhance effective communication skills, Class wise Extempore Competition was organized for IX–X classes. The students spoke eloquently on varied topics like Covid-19, leadership, books, animals, sports, etc. The event was a great learning experience for the students as they learned to express their views and opinions spontaneously. They were judged on criteria including content, confidence, coherency, oratory skills, and diction.

It cultivates in students problem-solving, analytical, communication, and persuasion skills critical for success in today's job market. Students of grade 11 were given project work on different topics such as GST, Demonetisation, Small scale industries, GDP enabling them to develop an inquisitive mind. It gave students a sense of independence and self-confidence, which propel them to always produce an original research report.

YOUNG PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE A HAPPY & ECO-FRIENDLY DIWALI

In Presidium School, assembly is a means to nurture a lot of skills and raise the confidence level of the students. Besides these, it helps to facilitate national integration and secularism by celebrating the festivals of all the religions. The students of class 5A filled the air with festivity as they celebrated the auspicious festival of Diwali. The students led the way in spreading the message of celebrating safe and pollution-free eco-friendly Diwali through their speeches. They emphasized the urge to act responsibly and be sensitive towards the essence of animals' environment and safety. They also apprised the audience about the adverse effects of fireworks. They tried to promote the use of eco-friendly colors for making 'rangoli.'Towards the end, the students were briefed on the ill-effects of burning crackers and were urged to celebrate the festival with candles, sweets, and non-polluting green crackers. Together they took a pledge to celebrate Diwali this year in an eco-friendly manner.

Every year Children's Day is celebrated across India in the memory of our first Prime Minister, Pdt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, whose immense love for children is known world-wide. To make our students feel special this year, the teachers of Presidium celebrated Children's Day online with full zeal and zest. At Presidium, we always believed that children should be given the utmost love and affection, as nurturing them and raising them in the right way would determine the future of India. The day is all about celebrating the joy of childhood, so it is ensured that children are praised. They enjoyed dancing to their favourite songs, antakshari, tongue twisters, drawing their favourite cartoon character, and sharing their creativity through sketches and drawings. The highlight of the celebration was the Match the baby activity wherein children were shown their classmates' childhood photos, and others had to recognize the person.

The National Education Day is celebrated on 11 November on the birth anniversary of Independent India's first Education Minister, freedom fighter, scholar, and eminent educationist Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Students of Grade 4E presented a virtual assembly to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, who was a great freedom fighter, an eminent educationist, and the first Union Minister of Education. Students articulated the ideology and contributions of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad towards Indian Education System skillfully through various mediums like- poems, thoughts, talks, and also through a PPT. They presented the assembly on the theme ‘Education is the Key to Success.' Presidians showcased their eloquence by delivering Speech on the topic 'Education - need of the hour.' The class echoed with Slogans presented by students who read "Education for all," "Each one Teach," etc.The commemoration reinforced that Education is the most powerful weapon that can change the world.

The main aim was to learn tips to enhance the immunity of Toddlers and to enhance the knowledge of the toddler's parents.

STUDENTS BUILD THEIR VOCABULARY WITH STORY READING ACTIVITY

Stories play a vital role in the growth and development of students. Reading also helps students with their confidence levels, coping with feelings and language and learning. Reading at home also boosts school performance, it also increases vocabulary, raises self-esteem, builds good communication skills, and strengthens the prediction engine that is the human brain. To ensure all this, the Prep and Nursery students conducted a story reading activity, where the students read stories and shared their views with their classmates and teachers. It was a good learning activity where they learned about new characters and talked about the good things they learned through each story.
