INCREDIBLE TRIP TO THE VIBRANT CITY OF AMRITSAR

An educational trip to Amritsar was organised for the students of grade 5. It was a 2 days and 1-night trip. The students were highly excited and enthusiastic about their visit to Amritsar. The students reached the 5-star hotel ‘Holiday Inn' and enjoyed the delicious breakfast. They were left stunned to know the brutality shown by General Dyer and how his troops fired on the crowd at the Jallianwala bag. At Wagah border, they witnessed the lowering of the flags ceremony of India and Pakistan. It is an alternatively a symbol of the two countries’ rivalry as well as brotherhood and cooperation between two nations. The fun-filled day ended with a lip-smacking dinner and a luxury stay in the hotel. The second day began with a visit to ‘The Golden Temple’ the holy gurdwara of Sikhs, where men and women from all walks of life and all the religions worship God equally. The students invoked blessings from God and enjoyed the prasad. They cherished the shopping time at the local market. It was an enlightening and amazing experience for the students.

TALENTED TITIKSHA ENTERS THE WORLD OF TELEVISION

Our talented young actor, Titiksha Anand of Grade 5, from Presidium Gurgaon, has proved her acting prowess by grabbing a role in the popular TV serials ‘Savdhaan India’ on Life Ok Channel and in ‘Aawaz Insaf Ki’ at Ahmedabad.
Titiksha has had a keen interest in arts and theatre since childhood. She has been actively participating in various talent and modelling shows with famous brands like Pink Cow and All India Fashion Kids Show. In 2014, she was presented the ‘India’s Best Jolly Kid’ award at the India Kids Fashion show, Jaipur; by the well known actress Madhuri Dixit Nene.

MULTITUDE OF CREATIVITY & IMAGINATION AT FUTURE FEST'2017

Loud encores, overwhelming roars, and cheers were the demeanor of Presidium Future Fest 2017, from 21st and 22nd February at Siri Fort auditorium. The annual day celebration was graced by the presence of our honorable Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta. The students crafted an artistic journey of songs, dance, and theater starting with the mischief of Krishna Leela followed by the mystical dance performances and a tribute to the brave soldiers of India.
The performances unfurled like a book of adventures into the mystical world of dreams as Presidians left the audience mesmerized and enthralled. The gush of excitement at the fest was evident in the cheer and applause from the parents, teachers, and staff gathered there. A true visual delight, the musical drama left the spectators awestruck as they basked in the wondrous performances by Presidians.

ANNUAL ADDRESS OF ITIHAAS BY HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA

ITIHAAS believes that such innaugural addresses will allow more and more students to take charge and work together to tackle and creatively rethink the array of challenges that face our world today. In its inaugural edition the address was delivered by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 6th February 2017 at the convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi. Our school children also witnessed the blessing of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The event started with the welcome address by Smita Vats, Founder-Director, ITIHAAS. It was followed by the commencement prayer by students of Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School. During this prayer Vilas Vinayak Who is a self-taught artist made an amazing portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
His Holiness addressed the children from different schools gathered to witness the grand event. He said that only 21 st century people will and can bring change .Today’s generation is the only hope of the world to build happier and compassionate world. At National level, International level and Individual level everyone will be happy by practicing love, peace and compassion. All the problems are carried by us only. Buddhism teaches us only love, forgiveness and tolerance. Human beings only create problems and violence. We should create happier community not the miserable community. Now we must act by using our intelligence and by thinking non-violence. His Holiness emphasized on the spirit of the dialogue. With the inspirational words by His Holiness, the students took back home, kindness and compassions.
With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.

LEARNING WITH NATURE AT BOTANICAL GARDEN

Nature is a powerful teacher, and there are so many things that kids can learn through hands-on experience. So, under the theme 'Plants' of Theme-Based Learning, Grade 1 students got a chance to visit the botanical garden, feel the plants, trees and feel more connected to nature. Experiential learning gave the students a chance to touch and feel the different things in the garden. They experienced the beauty of nature by seeing various plants and trees, the roots, dried leaves, twigs, seeds and fruits in the garden. They were excited to see all these things and they also collected samples of different types of leaves and flowers from the garden to show it to their parents. They saw different animals present in the garden like squirrel, ants, birds etc. Apart from all these, students interviewed the gardener and asked him, how he maintains the garden and keeps it more lively. The gardener enthusiastically answered the children and advised them to keep the environment safe and clean.
The teacher helped the students with identifying the different parts of plants like roots, fruits, trunk etc. along with their functions. It was a fun-filled educational trip for the children through which they got to learn new things through hands-on experience.

The Cricket grounds at Presidium came alive with the exciting finals of Inter Presidium Cricket Tournament on 20th January, 2017. The final match between Presidium Gurgaon and Ashok Vihar, was a real spectacle of talent, brilliance and astounding performances by the players of both the teams. Team Gurgaon won the Runners up title at the match.
The occasion was graced by the Guest of honour, Mrs Sudha Gupta, the Hon’ble Chairperson and renowned cricketer Mr. Unmukt Chand, who acknowledged the school and the coaches for giving an opportunity and polishing the unmatched talents of the budding master blasters.
